A heart-warming tale of a simple gardener in the local park. One day he discovers a fossil of a sea anemone and after some magic, finds himself taking a remarkable journey. On the way, Anemone and Liam discover that the world can be a difficult place and the importance of friends standing up for each other.
 

The show features a talking anemone, Punch & Judy, donkeys running amok and some great music!   Music and fun for children aged six/seven upwards and their families.

This exhibition presents a stunning and vast array of Valentines Cards, as they used to be before the commercialisation of this national anniversary. On display will be 200 cards from the ‘The Shell Valentine Collection’ and also a selection from the ‘The Laura Seddon Collection of Valentine cards’, dating from the early 19th to the early 20th centuries, on loan from The Manchester Metropolitan University Special Collections.

We are offering a course for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs aged 8-19 years old which is called ‘Short Breaks’, funded by Wirral Council.

Activate Arts has created the ‘Short Breaks’ project to provide children/young people with special needs with an opportunity to experience our Creative and Performing Arts workshops. The sessions are jam packed with fun – games, drama, dance, music, arts and crafts and loads of other activities and are fully supported with a Practitioner, Support Workers and care staff.

Sessions take place each Sunday and will be split into Juniors ages 8-13 from (10am – 1pm) and Seniors ages 13-19 from (2pm – 5pm).

Close Encounters

Lake District visitor attraction Lakes Aquarium is gearing up to allow children and adults alike to get up close and personal with its incredible and awe-inspiring creatures through a half term ‘Close Encounters’ event running from February 13-19, 2012.

The Lakeside-based attraction, near Newby Bridge on Windermere’s southern shore, is preparing to feed visitors lots of science facts, rather than science fiction, while enabling them to feel, observe and discover the range of wildlife under its roof in a variety of dynamic ways.

Every day, children will be able to handle snakes and a giant land snail, use magnifying glasses to observe rock pool creatures and their characteristics and dive into creative discovery bags located around the Aquarium.  These will contain storybooks, puzzles, discovery challenges and other useful ways of finding out more about different wildlife.
