Leasowe Lighthouse Open Day
Moreton
Climb the 130 steps to the top of the oldest brick built Lighthouse in Britain. The guided tours led by the Friends of Leasowe Lighthouse run every ½ hour and last 20 minutes. (Last tour to the top is at 3.30pm). There is a minimum height restriction of 1.06 metres for people wishing to visit the top and a charge of £2 per adult and 75p per child (under 16 years old). Alternatively why not spend some time in the ground floor Exhibition Area where you can buy souvenirs and enjoy some refreshments. No need to book. Just turn up at Leasowe Lighthouse, off Pasture Road, Moreton.

Wirral Leukaemia Research Bikeathon
Arrowe Country Park
Enjoy a family day out cycling around the west Wirral countryside, get some healthy exercise and help raise money through sponsorship to support the vital work of leukaemia research. A 14 or 28 mile course routes are available, starting and finishing at Arrowe Country Park, with over 80 marshals stationed along the route with free refreshments. Adults: £8.00; Under 17: £4.00 (£15.00 and £5.00 on the day). Receive an entry pack including a T-shirt, route map and an individual rider's number. Complete the ride, and receive a special commemorative medal!

Telegraph Station Open Day
Hilbre
The Friends of Hilbre will be opening the best preserved Holyhead to Liverpool telegraph station which is now a small visitor centre on the main island. Short Ranger-led tours of the island and seal watching will also be taking place. The Friends will also be staffing the Wirral Council Parks and Countryside Mobile Information Unit at West Kirby Marine Lake Car Park (CH48 0QG) to provide advice about safe crossing times and other information about the islands.
Children must be accompanied.
