Successful Established Business For Sale

What is special about scalextric childrens parties’ equipment?

Wow factor!

This is the track you wanted as a child, but father came up with something inferior. Or nothing at all in some cases.

Much is purpose built. Spotlights give the silver rails and grey track surface a dramatic look. The precision form of the whole shape gives an arty sculptural look.

Reliability is our top priority Off the shelf slot-car racing track made to a keen price can give trouble. Unfortunately professional entertainers work in difficult situations without a skilled technician in attendance. Coming back tomorrow with a spare part is never an option. High quality equipment together with back-up systems for all critical components gives peace of mind to your child’s party and staff and carefree fun to the children.

What do scalextric childrens parties  staff do?

We bring all equipment and set-up in a suitable venue.

Setting-up time is usually under 1hr . Packing away takes about 30min. Equipment will fit in a lift so events can be held on any floor. If flights of stairs are unavoidable prior notice is appreciated

Great track, cars and computerised scoring is just the start. There is a very important job to make the party run well. I call the job "Race Director"

This is the job brief: Referee the game, using a radio microphone give a  race commentary, jokes etc. Organise the structure of the party using the computerised scoring. Make sure the rules are clear and policed.

How do we organise the event?

The race Director uses experience and a structured competition to get the most from the party.

The exact running details will depend on many things. Size of group, age of group, other entertainment or distractions running at the same time in the same area. A simple game format is best if distractions are many, or a more challenging match if the concentration of players can be expected.

With a plan and the computerised scoring the race Director is ready to make the most of the event.

How long does the event last?

You never really know who will refuse to play and who will play

If slot-racing is the only entertainment, a group of 20 will play enthusiastically for 1 hour. A game plan giving individuals a chance at have a go. This is one of the many game styles our bespoke computerised scoring greatly simplifies. The race director will choose the best option on the day.

Contractually we normally quote for up to1 hour of game play. We are always happy to quote for extended running time say for wedding etc.

What vehicle do I need to shift the equipment?

The track will pack into a small van.

Equally it will fit in an estate car. This saves operating cost improving business profits.

Benefits over a van are.

A car has lower cost due to fuel economy, insurance, repairs etc. A car is quiet and comfortable so staff arrive relaxed and ready for the event.

Much easier to find somebody with a car last minute, for those short notice bookings. No need to hire a special vehicle. A car is easier to park and manoeuvre in busy city centres. It will fit in all car parks regardless of height restrictions

Can one-person run the event?

Generally two people staff the event. For the following reasons: City centre events often have poor off-loading and parking. One person can stay with the vehicle during offloading and then park while the other stays with the equipment to set-up.

It is more enjoyable to have the company of a colleague. Time spent travelling and waiting for an event to start is much better with somebody to talk to. Running the event is also easier. One person can handle race commentary while the other can move and set-up cars. By swapping jobs throughout the event fatigue is reduced.

If parking and loading is easy and running times are under 2 hours then one experienced race director can easily do a good job.

How complicated is the equipment to set-up?

Ease of assembly is excellent. A 1-hour session given by an experienced user should be enough to learn how to set the equipment up.

The computerised scoring also requires learning. Basic game play requires about 10 minutes of instruction. All the computerised scoring modes together with understanding how to work with the crowd takes longer.

How likely is a technical fault?

Timing is critical with a room full of children gathering for a short time. If the food, drink or entertainment do not show the disappointment will be enormous. Financial and business reputation damage will result.

Most equipment works on if it breaks you will need to get it fixed. For example a car is very reliable but many faults can make it stop. An aircraft is different with a back-up system for just about all critical components. I designed the  slot track systems with aircraft design in mind.

Spares for all critical equipment is a must. No special skills are needed to fault find and change parts. All parts can be changed quickly

How long will the equipment last?

There is no exact answer to this as it is possible to destroy anything very quickly. I built my first track 10 years ago. It was sold a year ago. I know it is still operational as I am in contact with its owner.

The latest equipment is designed to be tougher and more resistant to abuse. We offer a full maintenance service and spare parts.

Maintenance costs should be low if reasonable care is taken

How much does it cost to buy?

Total system price is £15,000 which includes the track and a great selection of cars, plus scenery and stands in fact everything you need, plus the World of remote control, also in this package is the web site and the company name and full backup if needed.
