just offer books but also CDs, DVDs, computer games, free internet access
and special sessions for children including story times for the under 5s and
rhyme times for babies.
They can also lend materials
for children with hearing, visual, physical or learning problems and
dyslexia.

Bookstart is a national scheme to encourage reading.
Bookstart aims to
provide free packs of books to every child
aged 0-4
in the UK.
Bookstart BookCrawl
encourages young readers to become library members
and collect stickers & certificates. Ask at your local library for details or see
