Sandy beach with dunes. Discovery Centre with lots of information about local animals and plants. Walking trail, car park. Good for kite flying.
Crosby Beach

Crosby, Merseyside
Another Place - Antony Gormley Statues - 100 identical cast iron figures scattered across a mile long stretch at Crosby Beach. Some high on sand, Some semi submerged by sea. Makes a surreal walk beach walk wondering which are statues and which are other walkers in the distance. By "Angel of the North"'s sculptor Antony Gormley.
Kids love it. Be careful of tides, observe signs and don't go to sculptures furthest out.

Gronant and Talacre Dunes

Gronant
Sand dunes and large open beaches. Lighthouse. Site of Special Scientific Interest. Views across Dee estuary. Bird watching. NB Beach is a tidal zone: beware of tides and leave plenty of time to get off beach. Nearby bucket & spade shops, fish and chips etc.

Moreton Beach Moreton
Lifeguards (summer). Near Leasowe Lighthouse.
Prestatyn Beaches Prestatyn
Large sand beaches but with strong currents.
Barkby Beach is a large sandy beach part of Gronant Dunes.  Pitch and putt picnic and play areas nearby.
Central Beach is close to town centre and has wheelchair access to promenade.
Ffrith Beach is bounced by dunes.
Rhyl Rhyl
Family beach, sandy with lots of traditional resort attractions, amusement arcades etc.
Southport Southport
Family beach with promenade and pier. Very big tidal reach. Close to attractions of Southport town including New Pleasureland theme park and funfair, the marine lake and Splashworld.

West Kirby Beach West Kirby
Traditional British sandy beach with pony rides, bouncy castle, ice cream kiosk, toilets, lifeguards (summer).  Good for water sports and kites. The Hilbre Islands Local Nature Reserve is nearby.
Wallasey Beach Wallasey
Sandy beach. Views towards Liverpool. Toilets and lifeguards (summer). Pitch and putt golf course. Part of the North Wirral Coastal Park which has dunes and grasslands to explore.

Wirral Country Park

Thurstaston
Country & coastal walks, cycle rides, bird watching, nature trail. Beach. Visitor Centre with nature info. Family activities, picnic and BBQ sites. Cafe. Educational facilities for schools.
