How it started
Kidsguide was set up by Zena
Barrick a Chester mother who was frustrated at never knowing where to look
for information about local family facilities.
" When I had
my first baby I had no idea how to find childcare or where to take kids on a
rainy day. I didn’t discover that there was an excellent toddler group just
round the corner until my daughter was three and too old to go!
Although there are many sources of information,
there didn’t seem to be a single, comprehensive, easy-to-use resource to
find out all the kids’ stuff you usually only find out by speaking to
people.”
One stop shop
So she decided to set up the
Kidsguide web site as a "one-stop shop" for
parents with
children aged 0-14, in particular, those new to parenthood, new to the area
or who are simply fed up of hearing those immortal words “I’m bored… what
can we do today..?
How it's grown
Since its modest beginnings in 2005, Kidsguide has grown from
strength to strength and received over 2 million hits in 2007! Kidsguide
