22/7/8 Pub with outside play area near Cheshire Oaks
Hi, I am planning to meet up with a friend near Cheshire Oaks somewhere and would like to know if anyone knows of any pubs near there that have an outside play area. thanks very much.
Jo Malpas

To respond email noticeboard@kidsguide.co.uk

Jo, my choice would be to try the Bunbury Arms, (2 Little Stanley Lane, Stoak, Chester, Cheshire  CH2 4HW  Tel. 01244 301665) It's an old pub with reasonable food and quite a nice, little garden. No play equipment but there are sometimes horses next door to look at and a very short walk from a pretty bridge over canal and footpath, barges etc. I haven't taken my kids there for a while so I can't guarantee it's still child friendly but it's a proper country-style pub so worth a try and a rare thing near Cheshire Oaks which is dominated by large US chains. If that doesn't work out you are only two mins from the Stanney Oaks (Harvester chain pub), Little Stanney CH2 4HT 0151 356 4930.

How about a cheerleading party. Many of the girls are into high school musical.  They can learn the moves, the chants and a whole routine.  If there is time they even get the chance to fly.  On details on www.littlesuperstars.co.uk or ring louise 07904311552

Hi,

30/6/8 Arts and Crafts club for Toddlers/pre school children on the Wirral
Hi does anyone know of a craft based toddler activity club on the Wirral?
Julez Oxton

To respond email julez_ew@yahoo.co.uk or  noticeboard@kidsguide.co.uk

Hi Julez, we have lovely Rhythm Time sessions on all over the Wirral. This provides an excellent preschool activity for you little one and comes highly recommended by health visitors. We also hold baby sessions from 8 weeks! All classes are age-related and lots of fun. The preschool session introduces them to the art of reading music and they learn about simple musical signs like crescendo and diminuendo, piano and forte as well as the instruments of the orchestra. They interpret different pieces of music and develop their singing ability and co-ordination. The classes dovetail with National Curriculum and help with reading readiness and listening skills. We are holding summer courses on the Wirral, Chester and Shrewsbury, otherwise classes start again in Sept. Early booking is recommended. Ring me anytime: Julia 07789867589

Hi Julez,
I run Mucky Pups which now has it's own premises situated at 75 Wallasey Village. We run parent and toddler art and craft classes each week day from 9.30 - 12pm during term time and messy play sessions each afternoon from 1 - 2.30pm.

We are open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the summer holidays from 10am - 4pm catering for all children from 2 - 8 years.

We have a new exciting theme each week with lots of activities to keep them occupied and they get to take all their creations home with them!

For more information contact Marie 07900 643 768 or mariesteel@mucky-pups.com

23/6/8 Nursery open at weekends in Crewe/Nantwich area
Does anyone know of a nursery open at weekends we have a 1 year old and we both have to work weekends
Keith Crewe/Nantwich/Malpas/Tarporley

To respond email noticeboard@kidsguide.co.uk

No i do not, but quite often the nursery workers from nurseries will do some babysitting for you even if its during the day.  Just contact a local nursery with a good reputation.
Louise

Hi Keith
Have you considered using a childminder instead? They too are registered and inspected by Ofsted, and work to the same standards as nurseries - from Sept 08 in fact, all Early Years providers, including schools, will work to exactly the same standards ( EYFS framework). Many childminders are available to care for children over the weekend, and in some cases even overnight too! The childminding network co-ordinator for the Crewe and Nantwich area is a lady called Angela Moore ( 07810 181 419), she should be able to help you further. Alternatively, try contacting the families information service on 0800 0852 863

Best wishes

20/6/8 Babysitting in Duddon/Tarporley
I'm looking for a babysitter for my 8mth old. It would be on an ad hoc basis just so we can get out for an occasional evening. You would need to come to us and have the necessary child minding experience and CRB checks. Many thanks, Kirsten
Kirsten Norbury

To respond email noticeboard@kidsguide.co.uk

Hi Kirsten
Although not a childminder, I have 13 years of babysitting experience with children from 6 weeks old and can provide references from parents whose children I currently look after.
I am a primary school teacher and worked in a private day nursery part-time whilst doing my teaching degree, so also have formal childcare experience of looking after children from 6 weeks old.
I am a Rainbow Guider and Guide Guider and have several CRB checks.
I live in North Wales but work in Ellesmere Port (where I used to live) and babysit across Chester, Ellesmere Port, Wrexham, Connahs Quay, Hapsford and Frodsham.  I have my own car and am flexible regarding times I am available (ie am happy to start at 6pm or even earlier at weekends if you wanted to go for an early meal and to the cinema - or later finishes with prior notice, I have worked for a national childcare agency and often bookings would be until 2am as they mainly provide sitters for parents who are at functions in hotels so have late finishes!)
I have completed First Aid training, which included emergency aid for babies and young children so you can be assured your baby would be in safe hands with me.
Please contact me directly if you wish to ask any questions about anything I may have missed, and to discuss rates if you are interested in meeting me with a view to having me as your babysitter.
I look forward to hearing from you
Laura

Hello Kirsten,

I am a qualified primary school teacher living in the Wrexham area and I would be more than happy to travel to your area.  I have recently worked within a day nursery setting and will be doing so again over the forthcoming Summer holidays therefore I will have daily experience in working with babies.  I sit on behalf of a professional babysitting service so I have been interviewed and I also regularly sit for families privately, looking after a babies and children of all ages.  I have a recent up-to-date CRB disclosure which was carried this month.   I have attended Paediatric First Aid Training and have a knowledge of the Birth to Three framework.  I would therefore be able to motivate and encourage your 8 month old through play as well as looking after him/her.  I can provide references and I am flexible with times and days of work whether it be week nights or weekends.  I even sit for families during the day at weekends should you ever need a daytime sitter.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards

There are some suggestions on Kidsguide's eating out page but we could do with a lot more suggestions please!

My suggestion would be the Blue Moon Cafe down by the river Dee. Child friendly with board games, bread for ducks and simple fare e.g. beans on toast if you want to eat. Also in a nice location on the Groves just a couple of minutes walk upstream from the suspension bridge.

Hi Paula,
I run very popular drumming parties in people's homes and hired halls.   I bring along an extensive electric drum kit and acoustic drums and the children have a great time learning basic drumming skills.   The parents love it because all the children are busy and happy (and some Mums and Dads like to drum along, too).

Hi

You can get a full list of all childcare providers (including childminders) in your area from Cheshire Children's Information Service on 0800 0852 863.

They hold a huge database of information about all sorts of childcare, including schools/preschools/playgroups served by individual childminders - just tell them the name of the preschool and the days/times you require care, and they should be able to send you a list of possible matches.

Best wishes
