What's the difference between a featured event and a free basic event listing?

Free basic event listings are brief listings in date order. Featured events appear near the top of the page in a tinted box. They can include an image so you can add your logo or a photo to draw attention and help illustrate your event. They have more room for extended text allowing you to fully explain your event. Featured events can also include a punchy headline and additional web addresses (e.g. for your Facebook/Twitter/blog). Featured events appear in Kidsguide's e-newsletter. Featured events also appear on Kidsguide's Facebook timeline and Twitter feed. In other words they have a much higher profile to generate you more enquiries.

How soon will my featured advertisement go on-line?
In nearly all cases featured events will appear on the live website within 2 working days of your order and payment.

How long does a featured event ad last?
There is a one-off flat fee payable for featured events no matter how long the featured event is online for (maximum 11 months). The featured event will remain online until after the event has passed.

How much is a featured event?
£22.99.

Will it be included in Kidsguide's e-newsletter?

Yes. Get your materials and payment to us by the deadline and we'll include your featured ad in one e-newsletter. See e-newsletter dates & deadlines

Can my ad be included in more than one Kidsguide's e-newsletter?
Yes. It can be included in additional e-newsletters for just £10 extra per issue.

When do I have to pay?
As soon as you place your order and before your advertisement goes on-line.

Solution Graphics - PayPal logoHow can I pay?

It's best to pay on-line using PayPal as this is easy, secure and only takes a few minutes ensuring that your ad goes online without delay. PayPal accepts credit cards, debit cards or bank transfers. No VAT is applicable. You will receive a receipt for your payment from PayPal via email. You may log into your account at www.paypal.com/uk to view details of your transactions. You will also receive an invoice from Kidsguide for your records.

Can I pay by cheque or bank transfer?

Yes. After you've completed your featured event order form please email advertise@kidsguide.co.uk to request an invoice. An invoice will be emailed you with payment instructions. Please note that your ad will not go online until your payment is received.

I've just placed an order and paid via PayPal. What happens next?
We will email you to confirm as soon as your ad is online so you can check it and let us know if you need any changes.

What if I change my mind?

If you change your mind within the first 24 hours of your ad going on-line, we will refund you - no questions asked. This will usually be done very quickly but at certain times of year may take up to fifteen working days. Kidsguide will not be liable for any resulting loss.

Where will my featured event advertisement appear?
In the what's on section.

How are featured event listings places allocated?

Ad positions are allocated on a first come first served basis. If an ad already above you expires you will move up a place. New ads ordered after yours will appear below you.

Do I need special artwork?
No, just email us your logo or a photograph if you'd like it included in your advertisement.

What if I don't have a logo or suitable photo?
It doesn't matter. We will just use your text.

I want to advertise now but my logo isn't ready yet. Can it be added later?
Yes. Your ad can go online now then just email your logo or a photo later and we will add it to your ad. If you want to include your image on the e-newsletter please remember the e-newsletter dates & deadlines.

What format and size do you need my logo/photo?
Logos or photos should be supplied as a .jpeg .gif or .png file. We cannot use other formats including pdfs, word docs or publisher files. They should be no larger than 125 pixels wide by 125 pixels deep. If you are not sure about the size, please just email it anyway - we can usually resize it. Images should emailed to advertise@kidsguide.co.uk

Will my ad be hyperlinked to my website(s) and email address?
Yes.

What if I don't have a website?
It doesn't matter as long as you have a phone number and or email address so people can get in touch with you. If you get a website in the future just email us and we can add the web address to your ad.

Can I add a link to my Facebook page or blog ...
Yes, with featured listings you can add links to your main website, to a special page in your website (e.g. promoting an event or offer), to your blog, to your Twitter, to your Facebook page and pretty much anything else.

Can I make changes to my ad?
Yes, you can make any changes to your ad in what's on section at any time. Simply email your changes to advertise@kidsguide.co.uk. We will email you back when the changes have been made. If you are expecting to make changes, please be aware of the e-newsletter dates & deadlines

My event is not in the Kidsguide area, can I still advertise?
Yes, you can have a paid advertisement but not a free listing.

What areas does Kidsguide cover?
Cheshire, Manchester, Merseyside, Flintshire, Wrexham.

How many visitors does Kidsguide have?
Kidsguide has over 3/4 of a million hits each month. Please click here for the latest visitor numbers.

Where does Kidsguide feature on Google searches?

Kidsguide has consistently high Google ratings featuring on the first page of most relevant searches on Google and other popular search engines.

I still don't really understand why should I pay to advertise when I can have a basic listing for free?
Featured listings give you a higher profile and promote your products and services above those of your competitors. Featured events appear in the e-newsletter too.
Because featured event listings are much more attractive and noticeable than basic listings they attract more enquiries. Don't take our word for it ... listen to our advertisers ...
